PURPOSE OF JOB

As Customer Care Representative the successful candidate will provide direct service to customers, brokers, and healthcare providers. They will manage insurance coverage inquiries, resolve service problems, handle customer requests, and finalize policies.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn and understand insurance products to ensure our products and services meet the needs of our customers.
  • Respond to customers’ (internal and external) and brokers’ telephone/e-mail inquiries, complaints, and requests within twenty-four (24) hours.
  • Refer serious or complex calls to the Service Manager.
  • Respond to telephone and e-mail messages within twenty-four hours.
  • Verify benefits to health care providers.
  • Be responsible for dispatch of all new business documentation.
  • Be responsible for dispatching and receiving all broker mail.
  • Receive premium payments and submit them to the Finance team.
  • Follow up on delinquent premiums with direct clients.
  • Liaise with Operations, Claims and Underwriting units on customer queries.
  • Other related responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or higher.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a Customer Service position.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to provide clients with excellent customer service and work effectively with internal staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to explain detailed policy concepts in a simple way.
  • Extensive knowledge of user-based office technology.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

The salary range for this position is CI$35,000 to CI$45,000.
