PURPOSE OF JOB

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Group Insurance Administrator you will be responsible for accurately adding and amending member records on our group insurance operating system, processing new business documents, scanning and filing correspondence, reconciliation of monthly invoices, printing ID cards.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Add/Amend records in health system and provide relevant documentation.
  • Update various logs, as required.
  • Reinstate policies, as instructed.
  • Maintain accurate scanned documents in file share locations and file all hard copy documents, once work is completed.
  • Troubleshoot/Respond to broker and customer queries.
  • Update online portal with new users/password resets.
  • Ensure that renewal rates are accurately entered into our insurance database.
  • Receivables batches, split billing runs/remove error runs.
  • Review and dispatch monthly premium bills.
  • Reconcile and follow-up premium bill discrepancies until resolved.
  • Produce various reports, as requested such as member listing, billing vs payment etc.
  • Produce lapse list monthly, as assigned.
  • Lapse policies on a monthly basis, as advised and assigned.
  • Perform tasks within set turnaround times.
  • Handles customers in a professional manner with an amicable approach to their needs, when required.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) with five passes including Math and English at CXC/IGCSE/GCSE level 3 or higher.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in data entry or administration.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal team and external stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must pursue and obtain a professional designation in life or health insurance, such as HIA, within two years of employment.
  • A strong team player that can provide support to others when necessary.
  • Knowledge of computer software, Plexis and Docushare would be an asset, but training will be provided.
