PURPOSE OF JOB

The HR Officer plays a key role in the HR department for Cayman First. The HR Officer is responsible for HR administration and supporting the HR department with talent acquisition and onboarding, employee relations, immigration, and operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Administration and Operations

  • Responsible for all staff record-keeping such as data entry into the HRIS, payroll administration, creating employment letters and maintenance of employee files.
  • Registering staff for professional development and organizing training opportunities.
  • Launching performance reviews for non-management staff.
  • Coordinating company events both internal and external and assisting with company travel arrangements.
  • Liaise with various service providers related to Human Resources and the organization.
  • Manages special programs such as community service initiatives and the CFI charity program.
  • Represents HR on the employee run corporate culture committee.

Talent Acquisition and Onboarding

  • Provides administrative support throughout the entire recruitment process such as posting jobs, candidate communication, executing job offers and collecting new hire paperwork.
  • Facilitates onboarding activities such as onboarding presentations, office walk through, new hire emails, completion of new hire paperwork, and workstation set-up.

Payroll and Benefits Administration

  • Collect all payroll related information, calculate and process payroll on a monthly basis.
  • Address employee inquiries and provide clarification on payroll-related matters.
  • Responsible for all benefits administration including pension, health insurance and fridge benefit programs.

Employee Relations

  • Acts as a representative for the HR department for employee inquiries on HR policies, processes, employee issues and escalates matters to the HR manager when appropriate.

Immigration

  • Responsible for posting positions on Jobs Cayman.
  • Responsible for collecting immigration paperwork and ensuring completion and the correct information for submission to immigration consultant.

HR Projects

  • Works closely with the HR manager to contribute to HR-related projects, such as process improvements, policy updates, and system implementations.

Other HR related duties

  • Performs other reasonable HR and administrative duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related work experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human resources in a similar role.
  • HR designation preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with employees and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial, especially when dealing with sensitive employee information.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to understand and apply local labor laws and regulations to HR practices.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and self-motivated.
  • Caymanian or RERC holder, married to Caymanian.
