PURPOSE OF JOB

Cayman First Insurance is seeking a friendly and organized Assistant Underwriter in our Property and Casualty department. As an Assistant Underwriter, the successful candidate will be responsible achieving retention targets for renewals, assisting customers with queries, liaising with third party vendors, providing accurate quotations, processing renewals, scanning, and filing correspondence. The ideal candidate is someone who is self-motivated, a quick learner, and someone who enjoys providing excellent customer service.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide excellent customer service when responding to customer queries, complaints, and issues.
  • Contacting customers by email and over the phone as it relates to renewal of products and services.
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date customer account information in our database, inclusive of logging correspondence for quality assurance.
  • Process payments, policy change requests and renewals to meet targets.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure timely resolution of customer inquiries.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Other related duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma; Associate degree is preferred.
  • Insurance certification or willingness to pursue insurance certification (CII).
  • A minimum 3 years of experience in the insurance industry or customer service-related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites and customer service software
  • Knowledge of insurance products and services is preferred.
