PURPOSE OF JOB
Reporting into the VP of Pamp;C, the Technical Service Manager is a key resource to the property and casualty division of Cayman First. This role will support the Group’s business development philosophy and culture into CFI, transfer of knowledge with respect to certain lines of business and facilitate a closer integration of the Group’s operational resources on underwriting and business production matters. The incumbent will be regarded as a key resource on Pamp;C transactional systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- In conjunction with MD/VP Pamp;C, review the current state of the relationship with each intermediary as it relates to the business development focus.
- Oversee development of client servicing capabilities with respect to the under noted lines of business and ensure appropriate knowledge transfer to designated persons:
- Complex and large commercial risks
- Special Acceptances
- Facultative placements
- Mortgage Indemnity cover
- Marine covers
- Assist with the development of a Dynamic Market Intelligence capability.
- Identify schemes, affinity programs, prospective agencies and assist in implementation of those agreed by senior management.
- Assist with efforts to cross sell within the CFI customer base
- Deal with brokers and large direct clients on new business enquiries and renewal negotiations.
- Assist with new product development.
OPERATIONS
- Main point of contact for facultative placements
- Maintain the Operations/Underwriting Manual in compliance with company and regulatory guidelines.
- Assist with the review of existing and the development of future marketing and advertising plans.
- Develop relationships with approved third-party providers for Pamp;C operational requirements (Reinsurers, Claims Adjusters, Brokers, Software providers, Key personnel from other insurers etc).
- Manage a team of four.
- Give guidance, assistance and training to CSR’s
PRIME -DIGITAL POLICY ADMINISTRATION SYSTEM
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for your area of expertise.
- Liaise with and provide information to the project Business Analyst (BA) when requested.
Requirements
- ACII or equivalent
- Thorough knowledge of the Company’s policies and underwriting procedures.
- Understanding of reinsurance treaties, coverage, exclusions and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and Leadership qualities
- Must be a team player and maintains harmony among workers.
